Liz Nugent is a bestselling novelist, born in Dublin. She is the author of four crime fiction novels. Her last one Our Little Cruelties published in 2019, was listed by the New York Times as one of 7 recommended thrillers of 2020.

At the age of six, Liz suffered a brain haemorrhage after falling down the stairs at home, and lost all coordination in her right hand. Although this means that Liz takes longer than most people to type, she hasn’t let it hold her back.

Liz

worked for fifteen years as a stage manager, before getting involved in TV Drama. While working, she wrote her first novel in the evenings and weekends over the course of six years. That novel, Unravelling Oliver, went on to be a Number 1 bestseller, winning Liz critical and popular acclaim, as well as numerous awards. Her second award-winning novel Lying in Wait, made her name in the UK. Liz is fascinated by the psychology of people’s motivation. She wants to know what makes people tick. She writes dark characters that do terrible things, and then sets out to find the reasons for their actions.

 Her third novel

Skin Deep won two An Post Irish Book Awards 2018: Irish Independent Crime Fiction Book of the Year and RTÉ Radio 1's The Ryan Tubridy Show Listeners’ Choice Award.
