Vivienne Barry, Chief inspector, Dublin Bus
The first female Chief Inspector, Vivienne has a varied role. On any day she could be attending the scene of an accident, working on revenue protection, meeting with the Gardaí, or emergency services, liaising with local communities or co-ordinating special events. She has to think on her feet, and be able to communicate with a broad range of people. Her favourite part of the day is when she gets tohelp people, be they employees, or customers. The most rewarding part of her job in 2016 was being part of the Dublin Bus Recruitment Day for Women. This initiative was a great success. They now have 84 female drivers, and hope to increase this to 125.
Enjoy being young and pursue your dreams. My dream is the next step and where ever it will take me.
