Claire Nolan, Project Architect
Over fourteen years ago, Claire was diagnosed with epilepsy. All the experts told her she would never get a college degree, never become an architect, never travel, or live away from home. Claire was devastated, and for a brief period of time she could see the future she dreamed of slip out of her hands. But then her stubborn streak kicked in. Claire knew she could not live a life surrounded by what-ifs. Determined to succeed against the odds, in 2011 she graduated with an honours Architecture degree.
Unfortunately, graduating in 2011 also meant graduating in the midst of the recession. After a number of unpaid internships, in 2013 Claire returned to DIT to study for her Professional Diploma in Architectural Practice (Distinction) becoming a fully qualified architect in November of that year. Since then she has worked with two of the top firms in the country on high profile jobs in Dublin and throughout Ireland.
Claire is also a very talented and successful landscape photographer.
If the thought of it scares you, you know you're doing something right. Trust that gut instinct of yours, it won't lead you astray but rather to all the places you’re dreaming of.
